Day 3, Saturday 3rd April

    1. 3 Races were raced today. 

      Teams racing was cancelled to allow the Open fleet to make up races lost due to lack of suitable wind. Thanks to those that worked so hard to make the teams racing a possibility...next time.

       

      4204. 4048. 4411. 4343. 5965 thru the gate.

    2. Blue/white finished and heading to shore.

    4. The awesome results team already have the days green fleet and open (first race of 3) results online on the opti nats website.
    5. Purple/yellow on the way in a steady breeze. ~7-9 knots
    6. Clear start.
    7. New course set. Trying to lay the pin will be the last start of the day under a z flag
    8. Start boat moving into cooks beach to set course in new wind direction
    9. In final seconds up goes the AP big wind change to left at 9 knots. Course being reset
    10. Purple/yellow starting under z flag. Lining up now
    11. Blue/white. Z flag start. All clear. Last race of day.
    12. Last boat finished. Race 3 being set.
    13. Committee determined to have a third race. Wind going to left.
    14. First boat is finished now

  2. First boats around second mark.
  3. First boats are around top mark. Flight one.

  7. General recall. Groan. Restart underway.

  10. AP coming down. Up to 6 knots seems to be stable and filling. Hopefully well get some racing away.
  11. Water like glass. No wind. We can see a line of wind a long way out. Hoping it will head in. Really hoping!
  12. Wee breeze hanging around, too light to race in... Not enough to lower the AP but enough to start the support boats call ups with updates.
  13. A 1-2 knot breeze is teasing us. Not enough to lower the AP and bring the sailors out. But it is encouraging...
  14. The race track is like glass. Flags on the committee boat are hanging limp. Keep fingers crossed for the wind to kick in.
  15. AP flown on shore. Committee boat heading out to find the wind. Wish us luck!
  16. Day 3 Breifings underway. Everyone is hoping the forcast winds arrive...
